Success in the Osiedle Mieszkaniowe Żubr developing company bankruptcy case

After over 5 years of criminal proceedings, the District Court in Kraków has finally issued a verdict in the Osiedle Mieszkaniowe (residential area) Żubr case.

The board members of the developing company were found guilty of fraud against those, who in 2008 had bought apartments in this investment. The court sentenced all of the board members to imprisonment and ordered the damage redress to all of the buyers. What is important, is that the court found that the management of the developing company intended to defraud the consumers of their money from the very beginning. The court did not share the arguments of the defense, who claimed, that the bankruptcy of the developing company was a result of the market situation, as well as actions of other entities, co-working in the investment.

The verdict is not legally binding. The accused will surely file an appeal.
